Power Amplifiers

Link Microtek announces two amplifiers from Triquint Semiconductor Corp. for broadband wireless access (BWA), 802.16 (WiMAX) and general S-band high power amplifier applications. Designated the TGA2923-SG and TGA2925-SG, the amplifiers deliver output powers of 10 W and 5.6 W, respectively, and provide a variety of performance advantages, including instantaneous bandwidth of 200 MHz across any segment of the 3.3 to 3.9 GHz band with only two additional external components. Suitable for both BWA basestation (BTS) and subscriber station (SS) applications, the amplifiers are fabricated using TriQuint’s 0.5µ HFET process, which enables good electrical performance and increased environmental robustness under the most demanding operating conditions. While designed to support the stringent linearity requirements of multi-carrier applications, both devices are also capable of delivering high saturated power and PAE. Both parts are offered in a molded 2-lead, SMT package that is RoHS-compliant.
