Crystal Oscillators Exhibit Low Jitter
Pericom Semiconductor’s 2.50- and 3.30-V SX and SN Series, and 3.30-V SD and SH Series XP crystal oscillators demonstrate a typ. phase jitter of 0.25 ps rms for CMOS and PECL clock applications, respectively. The components present peak-to-peak jitter of 40 ps, max. power consumption of 25 mA at 2.50 V and 30 mA at 3.30 V, stability from ±20 to ±50 ppm, and a selectable frequency option to use half of the frequency. The units cover from 150 to 220 MHz in 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), Passive Optical Networks (PON) and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) applications. The products are drop-in compatible with existing Overtone, SAW, and PLL-based oscillator solutions in 4-pin 5 × 7 mm (2.50-V/3.30-V SX CMOS Series), 6-pin 5 × 7 mm (2.50-V/3.30-V SN PECL) and 6-pin 3.20 × 5-mm (3.30-V SD PECL Series) packages.
