MMD Components announces a line of compact, low-jitter low-voltage positive emitter coupled logic (LVPEC) voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) with frequency ranges up to 700 MHz and utilizing inverted mesa and AT strip crystals. Package size is 5 × 7 × 1.5 mm. The VCXOs are especially suitable in applications with extreme environmental conditions. The units can operate in temperatures ranging from 㫏°C to +125°C, and the inverted mesa technology enables them to meet the same shock and vibration levels as oscillators operating in the 20 MHz range. The inverted mesa crystals also allow extended pull ranges — up to 𫐰 ppm at 700 MHz — while the chemically etched AT strip crystals, operating in the fundamental mode, provide an excellent VC-frequency pull range and a low factory jitter in the 0.5 PS RMS range.
