Siemens Communications Group announces two modules for tracking and navigation applications. The XT75 and the XT65 contain a GPS receiver that allows global positioning and EDGE, or GPRS technology for transmitting data to a mobile device. The modules are based on JavaT and have quad-band capability, which means they can be used in all GSM mobile networks worldwide. The radio modules XT75 and XT65 are suited for fleet management, vehicle positioning, navigation, emergency call or location-based services. The XT75 and XT65 allow the user to determine the exact location of persons, vehicles, goods in transit or end devices. Location-related information can also be sent and called up via the mobile network. Fast satellite positioning is carried out via 16 parallel channels using A-GPS data.
