Ericsson Power Modules’ PKU-E sixteenth-brick DC/DC converter supplies 35 W of output power in 24-V mobile radio applications and fixed applications using 48 V. The 7.50-mm high device offers input voltages from 18 V to 72 V, a SMT option using the Floating Inserted Pin (FIP) concept and typical efficiency of 89.50% at 50% load at 3.30 V with an input voltage of 27 V and input-to-output isolation of 1,500 VDC. The DOSA-compatible instrument exhibits pre-bias, monotonic rise, an integrated transformer and output inductor in the PCB and a predicted MTBF of 1.71 million hours, according to Telcordia SR332, issue 1, Black box technique.
