Coventor announces MEMulator 2004, a software tool for fabrication process emulation and visualization. The tool creates realistic 3D models by adding cross-sectioning, animation, and usability enhancements. The cross-section feature enables users to interactively create and control cross-section views of 3D models. The animation feature, which is useful for studying the kinematics of MEMS devices, enables users to define camera paths and automatically create live animations. The usability enhancements include zoom-to-selection, improved navigation through toolbars and menus, and user definable key mapping. The can automatically create virtual prototype models from a single die, to a whole wafer. It supports applications in surface micromachining, bulk micromachining, and wafer bonding.
