Microcontroller
EM Microelectronic introduces the EM6607, a low-voltage, low-power RISC microcontroller that features four high-current I/Os and the equivalent of 4 kB ROM, and operates on a 32 kHz crystal. The product is available in 24- and 28-pin TSSOP and SO and in die form to facilitate high density system packaging. The device's outputs can drive up to 30 mA at 3.0 V with 500 mV dropout voltage, making it suitable for driving stepping motors, LEDs, TRIACs, external EEPROM, and busses. It can also serve as a power supply for other devices in the system. The device operates from a single 1.2 V to 3.6V power supply. Power consumption is 1.8 uA in active mode and 0.3 uA in stand-by mode, when operating at 32 kHz and a supply of 1.5 V. The microcontroller can be used in systems requiring sensor interfaces, RF or IR control, motor driving or a general form of timekeeping. Applications of the EM6607 include security systems, domestic appliances, remote controls, bicycle computers, industrial timers and watches and clocks.
