Fairchild announces the FXL4T245BQX (4-bit bi-directional) and FXL5T244BQX (5-bit uni-directional) low-voltage logic-level translators in DQFN packaging. Designed for cell phones, notebooks, and other battery-powered portable devices, CMOS-based FXL series translators enable interconnection between a lower voltage microprocessor and higher voltage ASIC functions. The translators provide level translation between the 2.5 to 3.3 V I/Os of 3-, 4-, and 5-bit memory modules such as in Memory Stick® or Secure Digital (SD)™ card applications, and the frequently lower voltage I/Os of the processor chip set. Both translators feature configurable voltage supplies (V_CCA and V_CCB) for the inputs and outputs allowing translation in either direction, between typical logic levels of 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3 V. Power consumption is kept low by a quiescent current (ICC) specification of 20 uA max.
