Logic-Level Translators

Fairchild announces the FXL4T245BQX (4-bit bi-directional) and FXL5T244BQX (5-bit uni-directional) low-voltage logic-level translators in DQFN packaging. Designed for cell phones, notebooks, and other battery-powered portable devices, CMOS-based FXL series translators enable interconnection between a lower voltage microprocessor and higher voltage ASIC functions. The translators provide level translation between the 2.5 to 3.3 V I/Os of 3-, 4-, and 5-bit memory modules such as in Memory Stick® or Secure Digital (SD)™ card applications, and the frequently lower voltage I/Os of the processor chip set. Both translators feature configurable voltage supplies (VCCA and VCCB) for the inputs and outputs allowing translation in either direction, between typical logic levels of 1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3 V. Power consumption is kept low by a quiescent current (ICC) specification of 20 uA max.
