Semtech introduces the SC900, an I2C software-controlled power management device incorporating five individual, ultra-low dropout (ULDO) regulators in a 4 mm × 4 mm package. The SC900 adds the flexibility of I2C bus control so designers can quickly modify up to five common use, low dropout regulator requirements often present in battery-operated designs. Critical operational parameters can be changed or reset without replacing individual ULDOs or interface circuitry. Designers will find the SC900 suited for cellular phones, PDAs, personal media players, palmtop/laptop computers, and similar portable equipment. This product delivers full performance on all five ULDOs over the input range of 2.7 to 5.5 V.
