Analog Devices, Inc. has released two new RF (radio frequency) passive mixers for a variety of wireless applications, such as cellular base station receivers, transmit observation receivers and radio link downconverters. The single-channel ADL5353 and dual-channel ADL5354 integrated passive mixers simplify designs and operate in the 2300 to 2900 MHz frequency range. The ADL5353 mixer and the ADL5354 mixer offer one of the highest levels of integration including an RF balun, LO (local oscillator) switch for dual LO frequency applications, LO driver and an integrated IF (intermediate frequency) amplifier. The balun integration enables the RF signal to be driven single-ended. The integrated IF amplifier provides the necessary gain, thereby eliminating the need for an external gain stage. Both mixers provide best-in-class IP3 and noise figure performance resulting in excellent spurious free dynamic range.
