PWM Buck Regulators Feature Sequencing Capabilities
ON Semiconductor introduces its NCP312x family of dual output pulse width modulation (PWM) buck regulators that offer special auto-tracking and sequencing capabilities. Featuring integrated MOSFETs that deliver 2 A (NCP3120, NCP3122) or 3 A (NCP3121, NCP3123) output current with switching frequency up to 2.2 MHz, the devices are suitagle for a variety of consumer applications including set-top-boxes, LCD-TVs and cable modems. Their auto-tracking and sequencing features of enable exact timing and control over both output channels. This timing control prevents latch-up conditions that can cause immediate damage or even latent damage that produces failures in the field. This product family offers programmable ratiometric, sequential and tracking control to manage the output voltage behavior during start-up and power-down.
