IR Receivers Boast Close Sensitivity-to-Size Ratio

Vishay Intertechnology’s TSOP75xxx Series SMT IR receivers exhibit a typ. irradiance of 0.15 mW/sqm, a typ. supply current of 0.35 mA at 3.30 V, and a 3-mm profile in side view. The automatic gain control (AGC) components utilize 2 photodiodes to offset the loss of light-gathering capability, as well as 2 photo detectors and a preamplifier in 1 package, with 2 epoxy lenses designed as an IR filter. The TSOP752xx, TSOP753xx and TSOP754xx are compatible with all common IR remote control data formats, short-burst codes or long-burst codes, respectively. The devices are optimized for remote control and data transmission applications in small handheld electronics, set-top boxes, thin LCD TVs, game controllers, navigation systems and USB-TV. The RoHS/WEEE-compliant receivers offer a supply voltage range from 2.50 to 5.50 V over a carrier frequency from 30 to 56 kHz.
