The R&S SFU from Rohde & Schwarz is a system platform for developing and thoroughly testing new digital transmission methods in TV. Besides DVB-T, the R&S SFU also supports the handheld reception standard DVB-H, the satellite transmission standard DVB-S2 as well as DMB-T (TDS-OFDM), which is planned for China. The R&S SFU, which is upgradeable for future developments, can replace a system consisting of various individual instruments. It combines a test transmitter, a signal generator for MPEG-2 streams, a channel simulator, a digital AWGN noise source and an ARB generator plus an RF modulator in a single platform.
