Signal ICs Integrate Isolator and Driver
Silicon Laboratories’ Si823x ISOdriver family of mixed-signal ICs integrate a two-channel isolator and 4-A dual driver into a single chip with under-voltage lock-out circuitry. The analog-intensive CMOS-designed devices yield peak output currents of 0.5 or 4 A, output-to-input differential voltage isolation of 2.5 kVrms and peak driver-to-driver isolation of 600 VDC. The 200-mm² ICs offer 50% PCB area reduction, switching frequency up to 8 MHz, maximum propagation delay of 50 ns and common-mode transient immunity of >35 kV/µs.
