Positive Control Switch

Hittite Microwave Corporation announces the release of a 40 W GaAs MMIC positive control T/R switch for cellular/3G, TD-SCDMA, private mobile radio and automotive telematics applications from 0.1 to 2.1 GHz. The HMC646LP2E is a low loss, high linearity GaAs MMIC 40 W switch that provides exceptionally high P0.1 dB compression of +46 dBm (at 10% duty cycle) as well as an Input IP3 of +74 dBm on the Transmit (Tx) port, making it suitable for use in transmit-receive or LNA protection applications. Its superior low distortion at high input power levels as well as its fast switching characteristics makes it an ideal choice for the demands of modern base-station infrastructure. On-chip circuitry enables the HMC646LP2E to operate with single positive control voltages from 0/+3 V to 0/+8 V, with very low DC current consumption.
