MMIC VCO Amplifier

Hittite Microwave Corporation introduces its model HMC532LP4 (E) MMIC VCO that provides low phase noise and high output power for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, VSAT, military and test equipment applications from 7.1 to 7.9 GHz. This VCO integrates the resonator, negative resistance generator, varactor diode and buffer amplifier. With a +5 V tuning voltage, it exhibits high output power of +14 dBm and low single sideband phase noise of -101 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset. Output power and phase noise performance are good over temperature, shock and vibration due to the oscillator’s monolithic structure. It operates from a +3 V single supply, consumes 85 mA, and is housed in an RoHS compliant 4 3 4 mm leadless SMT package.
