Double Balanced Mixer Module

Hittite Microwave Corporation introduces a connectorized GaAs MMIC double-balanced mixer module, which is suitable for use as an upconverter or downconverter in military EW/ECM, radar, microwave radio, space and test equipment applications from 23 to 37 GHz. The HMC-C035 is a general purpose, double-balanced mixer housed in a miniature, hermetic module. This GaAs MMIC based double-balanced mixer provides an input IP3 of +19 dBm, 35 dB of LO/RF and LO/IF suppression and typical conversion loss of 9 dB. HMC-C035 also operates with LO drive levels from +11 to +15 dBm, requires no DC bias, and may also be used a bi-phase modulator/demodulator or as a phase comparator. The HMC-C035 complements the previously released HMC-C015 mixer which operates from 23 to 36 GHz and provides 8 GHz of IF bandwidth. HMC-C035 provides 13 GHz of IF bandwidth to support a broader range of customer applications. Suitable for upscreening to military specifications, and rated for operation from 㫏°C to +85°C, the HMC-C035 requires no external components or matching circuitry, and features removable coaxial connectors which may be detached to facilitate connection of the I/O pins to a microstrip or coplanar circuit.
