Wideband DAC Provides Low-Power Performance

The 12-bit, 4.0 Gsps MAX19693 wideband DAC from Maxim Integrated Products can synthesize signals in the frequency range from DC to nearly 2 GHz. The device is optimized for direct digital synthesis of high-frequency and wideband signals in the first Nyquist zone. Suitable for applications such as wideband communications, radar waveform, and digital signal synthesis, the 11 mm2 CSBGA device offers an SFDR of greater than 70 dBc below 800 MHz, and 62 dBc at 1500 MHz with a wideband-noise spectral density of -164 dBm/Hz. Operating from 3.3 and 1.8 V supplies, the 12-bit, 4.0 Gsps DAC consumes 1180 mW and can operate at temperatures from -40° to +85°C.
