Step-Down Regulator Breaks the Size Barrier

Small TQFN Footprint Output Currents of up to 25 A 4.5 V to 25 V Input Voltage Range

Maxim Integrated Products introduces its model MAX8655 switching, step-down regulator to incorporate the MOSFETs and to shrink regulator packaging into a small footprint in an 8࡮ࡦ.8 mm TQFN. The device provides output currents of up to 25 A. A 4.5 V to 25 V input voltage range allows for internal bus architecture (IBA) applications where input voltage can have a two-to-one variation. The device is suitable for any application in which space, power and versatility are crucial. Though packaged in a small TQFN, the regulator does not compromise control features. Built-in MOSFETs incorporate all the critical inductances, and they eliminate undesired parasitic board inductances. Sync input/output and thermal protections are standard features that assure safe operation under all conditions.
