Z-Communications announces the SMV1412A surface mount low profile package VCO for satellite communication handset applications. This device is for integration into PLLs. The VCP will generate frequencies between 1394 and 1429 MHz within a control voltage range of 0.4 to 2.1 VDC, allowing the error voltage to be taken directly from the IC’s charge pump circuitry. This device draws 11 mA of current from a 3 VDC supply. The company also announces the V418ME03 for the portable radio market. The V418ME03 covers the frequency range of 390 to 406 MHz within 0.5 to 4.5 VDC tuning range, making it suitable for integration into PLLs where the error voltage can be taken directly from the IC’s charge pump circuitry.
