Capacitors

Murata announces its GRM18 series capacitor using ultra thin dielectric films. The series is suitable for applications such as mobile phone handsets, digital audiovisual equipment, and personal computers. The company has developed a manufacturing process that enables the use of ultra thin dielectric layers, reducing the layer thickness to 1.0 micrometer. The capacitors utilize X5R characteristics at a rated voltage of 4 V. This technique produces new high dielectric constant ceramic materials, which realize ultra thin films, fine electrodes, submicron particles and tight process controls.
