RF Amplifier for FTTH Applications

Anadigics, Inc. announces its ACA2604 RF amplifier for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications. It features improved frequency flatness over temperature as required for domestic U.S. telco gigabit passive optical network (GPON) deployments. The amplifier contains an integrated AGC circuit, and it will lower bill-of-material (BOM) costs by eliminating many discrete components. It features a high overall gain of 24 dB, reducing the need for post amplification in the ONT/ONU or similar subscriber end equipment. Features include a 50 to 870 MHz operating frequency, high linearity of 65 dBc CTB/CSO (79 channels), low equivalent input noise of 4.5 pA/rtHz, a single +5 V supply and a 5 mm࡫ mmࡧ mm RoHS compliant surface mount package.
