Excellent RFID performance to withstand harsh environmental conditions
KSW Microtec AG and MELZER have announced a collaborative initiative to produce a multi-layer UHF label for customized applications in access control and asset tracking.
Drawing on the flexible engineering of KSW’s Windshield inlays and powered by MELZER’s new processing machine SL-600 for converting self-adhesive label stock and dry inlays to fully functional RFID tags, the new labels offer the best and consistent read range for all types of applications. These include automotive labels for windshields used for road toll, parking, city access and vehicle identification, fraud protection as well as labeling for logistics and luggage tracking.
MELZER’s new SL-600 machine is specifically designed for industrial production of small sized RFID labels and allows the manufacture of 100% quality and tested products. By identifying malfunctioning transponders during the converting process, waste of expensive material is avoided. Even critical material can be processed without any problems. Furthermore the machine provides a multiple track production of up to 6 tracks with a convenient web speed of 30m/min. totaling 180m/min. This results in 60,000 labels being produced per hour. This innovative converting machine guarantees highest accuracy and inline testing without cross reading, even for UHF products. MELZER’s SL-600 with KSW’s Windshield® inlays successfully demonstrated an excellent converting process at Label Expo 2011.
KSW’s inlays fit perfectly into the converting and further finishing process provided by MELZER, because their durable construction delivers excellent performance in a small label that can withstand harsh environments.
This product synergy between two leading RFID players is based on proven KSW Microtec WindSpeed® RFID inlays being ideally compatible with the MELZER SL-600 for the miniaturization of RFID products.
