HoloTouch Joins EDGE Innovation Network

HoloTouch announced it has joined the EDGE Innovation Network, a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to warfighters and first responders.

R. Douglas McPheters, President of HoloTouch, a veteran-owned Delaware corporation, observed, “being invited to join the EDGE® Innovation Network is further evidence of the wide appeal of our HoloTouch® touchless, holographic human-machine interface technology. HoloTouch technology allows people to intuitively enter commands and data into a wide range of electronic equipment by simply passing a finger through a holographic image. This capability has unlimited potential for the EDGE user community.”

Pete Palmer, EDGE director, said, “The EDGE provides a new military and government acquisition paradigm by using both physical and virtual environments where EDGE members and users can collaborate and innovate together to deliver gap-filling capabilities in months rather than years.”

Sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, there are seven EDGE Innovation Centers worldwide and over 200 EDGE members. Recent new members include Acellent Technologies, Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif.; Raytheon BBN Technologies Corp., Cambridge, Mass.; Real Time Companies, Inc., Phoenix, Ariz.; Abrams Learning and Information Systems, Inc., Arlington, Va; and Advanced Ground Information Systems, Inc., Jupiter, Fla.
