IEC Electronics Wins $5.1 Million Military Contract

IEC Electronics Corp. in Newark, Wayne County, which designs and manufactures circuit boards, has received an order valued at more than $5.1 million for components of a military helicopter missile launch system. The contract is through General Technology Corp. of Albuquerque, N.M., which IEC acquired last year.

“We are pleased to have received this order from one of General Technology Corp.’s customers,” said IEC Chief Executive W. Barry Gilbert. “This is an exclusive program for the helicopter missile launch platform which is ultimately being used by the U.S. Department of Defense.”

“We view this order to be a testament to the excellent relationship GTC has with its customer, with this particular customer being one of the top five military and defense contractors.”

IEC said it will begin deliveries under the contract in April 2011, finishing by March 2012.
