Smart Paper Tickets

Assa Abloy Identification Technologies launches a new line of smart paper tickets. The tickets are suitable for use in Public Transport networks, loyalty and leisure passes or as tickets at events. The tickets are based on NXP’s mifare® Ultralight technology and will be available in three different versions and with various antenna designs for different usage scenarios. Contactless ticketing provides valuable statistical data to public transport operators and subsequently helps to reduce fraud and optimize the efficiency of the network.

The new ticket line comes in three product families: Smart Ride is a cost-efficient ticket for single use, Smart Trip a high quality ticket for limited use and Smart Journey a premium product for multiple use. They are suitable for single trip ticketing, multiple ride ticketing, journeys and monthly passes and event ticketing (stadiums, exhibitions, leisure parks, etc.) The tickets are available with coil wound and etched antenna designs.

Assa Abloy ITG’s Smart Paper Tickets are easy to use in existing contactless infrastructures without having to update the equipment. Contactless ticketing reduces installation and maintenance costs, protects from fraud and delivers valuable data for optimizing processes and services.

Using the mifare command set, the tickets are ISO standard compliant and work at a transmission rate of 106kbit/sec. The reading distance is up to 10 centimetres.
