TEXAS INSTRUMENTS IEEE1394 DESIGN WORKSHOP

See website for registration information:
https://tiww.web-system.com/cgi/ti/seminars/wseminar?~series=125~encadm=43646260672403736850

Details:
The four-day IEEE1394 Workshop consists of theory modules that cover standardization, compliance rules, principles of operation, etc. and practical chapters covering hardware and software issues (and their solutions of course). The practical chapters are accompanied by exercises on real 1394 hardware. The students can test and verify the behavior of software, hardware and ready 1394 devices thus verify and strengthen the learned lessons. The 1394 Hardware platforms used in the Workshop can be purchased as Workshop-Tool for extended studies (check the back for details)

What You Will Learn
Upon completion of this Workshop the attendee will be able to:
— Understand the philosophy of 1394 and the associated application area
— Differentiate if your device just uses 1394 technology as data pump or whether you need to go for full compatibility and compliance.
— Select the right set of components depending on the possible data traffic scenarios your device needs to support and not on what 'the others' say the component has been designed for.
— Control signals via 1394 like switching lights on/off...
— Write code for 1394 devices as scripts running on a program framework provided at the workshop and/or own programs written from scratch.
— Build own 1394 hardware with high first time success probability as plenty of schematic and layout examples are provided for a safe start.
— Design high speed devices (based on the newer 1394 devices)
— Know whom to contact to start new working groups for new compliance level devices that have not been classified yet.
